PM Modi’s Munich Visit: Projects and Schedule

He will reach the NESCO Exhibition Centre located in Goregaon, Mumbai next at about 5:30 pm. In such a sequence, multiple road, railways and ports sector projects worth more than Rs 29,400 crore will be inaugurated and laid with foundation stones by him. The projects include the Thane-Borivali twin-tube tunnel and the Goregaon Mulund Link Road, GMLR.

Thane-Borivali Tunnel Project

The laying of the foundation stone for Thane-Borivali tunnel would be another big highlight of PM Modi’s visit. This nearly 12-km-long tunnel would cost Rs 16,600 crore and cut by an hour the travel time between Thane and Borivali. It will run below Sanjay Gandhi National Park and directly connect Western Express Highway at Borivali with Thane Ghodbander Road.

Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR)

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Goregaon Mulund Link Road Project worth over Rs 6,300 crore. It would improve the road connectivity from Western Express Highway at Goregaon to Eastern Express Highway at Mulund with a total length of approximately 6.65 km. The GMLR shall further provide direct connectivity to the new proposed airport at Navi Mumbai and the Pune Mumbai Expressway.

Other Key Projects

Besides these highways, PM Modi will inaugurate new platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Station. Long trains will be handled on the new platforms to increase the carrying capacity of passengers and for smooth train operations.

In Navi Mumbai, he will also be laying the foundation stone for Kalyan Yard Remodelling and Gati Shakti Multi Modal Cargo Terminal at Turbhe. This would enhance the capacity of the yard by handling more trains, decongest the traffic, and also provide additional employment.

Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana

Another major programme that PM Modi will inaugurate is the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana. Its outlay will be about Rs 5,600 crore. This pilot internship scheme is conceived to provide skilled training and industry exposure to young people between the ages of 18 and 30 years where the serious problem of unemployment has been established.

Dedication of INS Towers

Later in the evening, at 7 pm, PM Modi will go to the Indian Newspaper Society Secretariat at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai to inaugurate INS Towers. This new building shall be a modern and effective office space by the INS members catering to the changing needs of newspaper industry in Mumbai.

PM Modi’s visit to Mumbai becomes an epitome of infrastructural development in the city, aimed at better connectivity, reduced travel time, and more efficiency in transport systems. This is a part of the initiatives that reflect the aspiration of the government in building Mumbai en route to being a more connected and efficient metropolitan region with a view to its future growth and development.
