Donald Trump has expressed interest in bringing Tesla CEO Elon Musk into a potential future administration. During an interview after a campaign event in York, Pennsylvania, the former US President and current Republican presidential candidate hinted at offering Musk a significant cabinet or advisory role if he wins the 2024 Presidential Elections. Trump praised Musk as a “brilliant guy” and indicated that he would welcome Musk’s involvement in his administration.
Trump also touched on his stance regarding the current $7,500 EV tax credit, expressing skepticism about the effectiveness of such incentives. He noted that while he is a fan of electric vehicles, he is also open to gasoline and hybrid cars, leaving the door open for potential policy changes. Furthermore, Trump discussed possible adjustments to auto industry policies, including measures aimed at discouraging vehicle exports from Mexico and preventing Chinese automakers from setting up plants for the U.S. market.
In addition to his comments on Musk and the auto industry, Trump mentioned the challenges of banning apps like TikTok, highlighting the complexities of free speech in the digital age. As the 2024 elections approach, these remarks signal the potential direction of Trump’s policies and his openness to involving key figures like Musk in his administration.
